8 Motivational Quotes for Badass Young Women

Inspirational quotes for millennial young women

As millennial women, we often battle feelings of defeat and unworthiness in relationships, careers, and life in general. Whenever I’m feeling down or “weak”, I curl up to a powerful book written by a powerful woman or listen to a badass podcast recorded by a badass chick. I have an ongoing list of my favorite quotes that help me get through these “off” days and I wanted to share them with y’all! I’ve also included links for each author so that you can get a feel for my podcasts, blogs, and books of choice. I encourage you to do your own research on these GENIUS women.

(You’ll notice that F. Scott Fitzgerald is the first quote on the list and he is, in fact, a male. But click the link included with his name and you’ll see why I HAD to include him.)

Here are just some of the powerful words that lift me up:

1. “Why don’t you tell me that ‘If the girl had been worth having, she’d have waited for you?’ No, sir, the girl really worth having won’t wait for anybody.”
F. Scott Fitzgerald

2. “I am free, and always have been; free to accept my own reality, free to trust my perceptions, free to believe what makes me feel sane even if others call me crazy, free to disagree even if it means great loss, free to seek the way home until I find it.”
Martha Beck

3.“You are imperfect, you are wired for struggle, but you are worthy of love and belonging.”
Brené Brown

4.“If you’re serious about changing your life, you’ll find a way. If you’re not, you’ll find an excuse.”
Jen Sincero

5. “Remember that every time you say yes to something, you are saying no to something else. When you say yes to do something that’s going to deplete your energy even more, you’re saying no to something that could reset your energy.”
Maddy Moon

6. “On your deathbed, are you going to be okay with the fact that you didn’t step out of your comfort zone and do the thing your heart so desperately wanted to do?”
Andrea Owen

7. “Unicorns and sparkles are great, and when we can get there it’s wonderful. When we don’t, it’s also wonderful. Showing up is wonderful.”
Jess Lively

8. “Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail, but every day is a clean slate and a fresh opportunity.”
Gretchen Rubin
