The Best Books For Women Entrepreneurs In 2017

I am a book fanatic. I’ve never understood the appeal of Kindle because there really is nothing like the smell and feel of a new book in your hands. With that being said, I have become somewhat of a book hoarder. I have this lifelong dream of owning a huge library one day where I can sneak off to and write all day long. For this reason, I have been on a hunt to find the best books for women entrepreneurs so that I can fill my dream library with valuable content.

This year, I started a virtual book club to keep myself and my fellow women entrepreneurs on track.  I think it’s so important to read every day in order to get those creative juices flowing, no matter what field of work you are in. For those who have not joined our Facebook book club, I have compiled a list of awesome books for women entrepreneurs:

1. You Are A Badass
With social media and the every day pressures of society, it’s so easy for motivated millennial women to lose confidence in themselves. In You Are A Badass, Jen Sincero cuts the bullshit and gets straight to the point when it comes to getting ahead in life as a woman. If you want some tough love and pragmatic advice towards a badass career, relationship, and self worth, look no further. Jen is HILARIOUS and I don’t hate her potty mouth either. 😉

2. Captivating
As a single Christian woman, I have been searching for a practical guide towards navigating my new relationship with Jesus and checks all the necessary boxes. Written by John and Stasi Eldredge, Captivating covers everything from negative self-talk to romance to vulnerability. This husband and wife duo dives deep into the majesty that is womanhood and explains how God created women to RULE instead of simply serve. I’m telling you, this book has completely changed my outlook on life as a woman.

3. What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding
For the wild-hearted travelers out there, this book will have you reading in your bed one second, and packing a suitcase to Brazil the next. What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding is about a sitcom writer in LA who bypasses marriage and settling down in her twenties to travel the world. Her adventures remind me A LOT of the shenanigans I get into while abroad so you know it’s good… If you’re interested in traveling the world in your twenties and want to laugh your ass off, this book will have you saying adiós to all of your responsibilities back home. Who needs kids when you’re making out with hot men in foreign countries AMIRIGHT??

4. Daring Greatly
If you have been following my blog for a while, then you know that shame and vulnerability are my two favorite subjects to write about. Brené Brown and I share the idea that if more people would succumb to vulnerability and honesty, the world would be a much better place. Daring Greatly teaches you how being vulnerable can completely destroy the problems you face at work, in relationships, and every other aspect of your life. Brené has a Ph.D. in this stuff so trust me, she knows her shit.

5. Finding Your Own North Star
When I was going through my quarter-life crisis, this book changed everything for me. If you’re not sure what you want to do with your life, Finding Your Own North Star can teach you how to read your body’s intuition when making life-changing decisions. After reading Martha Beck‘s wisdom in this book, I realized that my current situation was not guiding me to my life’s purpose and, therefore, I quit my job. Now, I am able to differentiate whether something is helping or hurting my chances of making it in the world.

Now that you have a list of the best books for women entrepreneurs, you can begin making moves towards a more fulfilling life. If you have trouble finishing books on your own and want more accountability, check out our kickass, FREE book club! Surround yourself with powerful, motivating women and I promise those pages will fly by.
