Learning To Love Being Single

Learning To Love Being Single

Growing up, I considered people in their twenties to be lightyears older than I was. It seemed like those years were so far out of reach at the time. As I planned out my future through the Sim’s game, I concluded that I would be married by 26 with three kids, four ponies, and a healthy amount of cheat codes that would get me through all of life’s obstacles. Let’s face it, I didn’t have the most common sense growing up… I mean, I wanted to name my first-born “Shockey” for God’s sake.

Well, my 8th birthday turned into 9 and my 15th into 22. Needless to say, the plan that I envisioned for myself did not turn out the way I thought it would. At age 25, I can’t imagine getting married anytime soon, I’m not sure if I’ll ever be ready for children, and ponies scare the f*ck out of me.

Appreciating The Bad Days When They’re Really Bad

Appreciating The Bad Days When They're Really Bad

Easter Sunday was a bad day. Like, a really bad day.

Delia was sick, I dropped my phone in the sand and didn’t realize it until I got home, and I got a friggin’ flat tire. I was SUPPOSED to be drinking sangria by the pool with friends in Burbank but all of these crappy things prevented that from happening.

So what did I do? Did I sulk and fall into a lonely depression? No. I laughed it off and had a great day anyway.

Woo Woo Wednesday: Losing My Hypnosis Virginity

Woo Woo Wednesday: My First Hypnosis Visit

As I was going through my life coaching certification, there was a lot of talk about the power of hypnotism. There were a few women in the class that were practicing hypnotists and swore by the results.

So, being the curious millennial that I am, I researched hypnotists online and booked a session.

The guy looked a little cheesy (like a wannabe wizard) in his Yelp photo and my excitement quickly turned to doubt. Was he going to put some sort of spell on me? Was he going to make me take my clothes off and do the chicken dance in front of a large crowd?

Woo Woo Wednesday: My Struggle With Christianity And Personal Development

Woo Woo Wednesday: My Struggle With Christianity And Personal Development

Today we are digging deep.

This post is going to give you an up-close and personal view of my conscience and it may even be considered controversial. But, when I began writing this blog, I made a promise to my fellow millennials that I would be honest. So, here we go…

My spiritual journey over the past couple of years has been a roller coaster ride. I have studied Christianity, the work of Abraham Hicks, hypnosis, chakras, meditation… You name it, I’ve tried it. I have always been fascinated with the different ways people achieve peace and an overall deeper meaning to life.

But recently, I have been battling conflicting beliefs. The more I attend church and participate in bible studies, the more confused I become.

Woo Woo Wednesday: How to Get in Touch with Your Spiritual Side

Learn to be more spiritual

Since I started to press the pedal to the metal with this whole “meaning of life” journey, getting in touch with my spiritual (or “woo woo”) side has become especially important.

Connecting with my inner self has been a struggle because it can be borderline impossible to unplug with everything going on around me. Since embarking on this weird adventure, I am more in tune to my body and intuition which has helped me make decisions and, ultimately, write this blog. Now I’m challenging YOU to tap into your metaphysical being every Wednesday with this new blog series. There is so much more to life than just the physical, material things and once you begin to listen to your psyche, life will speak clearly to you.

  • Today my Papa passed away... I'll always miss the days you showed up to our house with women's sunglasses on and awkwardly hummed whenever it got quiet. It saddens me that I couldn't say one last goodbye before I moved back, but at least we got to be roomies for a while. Roll tide and I'll see you again one day ❤️

I have no idea what 2018 will bring but I can't wait to find out. ❤️
